Like every year, the summer brings new people to Tologa Bay. T K Roxborogh, of Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Mutunga o Wharekauri, Scottish, German and Irish descent, is an award-winning author of more than thirty published works, both fiction and non-fiction. 
Her first book in this junior fiction series, CharlieTangaroa and the Creature from the Sea (2020), won the Wright Family Foundation Esther Glen Award for Junior Fiction and the Margaret Mahy Book of the Year at the 2021 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.
